Our mission is to reimagine how theater is made — ensuring that every artist, whether performing or supporting behind the scenes, is treated with fairness, respect, and genuine opportunity. We don’t just talk about values — we live them, in every audition, rehearsal, and performance.

Our Core Beliefs
Ethical Casting
Casting should always be fair, transparent, and focused on the work itself. At New Leaf Players, we make decisions based on talent, authenticity, and the best fit for the role — not favoritism. We believe in Talent Over Tenure, ensuring every performer has a true and equal opportunity. If someone in a leadership position chooses to audition, this will be clearly communicated to everyone involved, and they will only be cast if they are truly the best fit for the role. Our process is designed to remove bias, build trust, and uphold artistic integrity. We are also open to any questions or concerns about casting choices and will address them with honesty, openness, and respect.

Auditioning is an act of bravery. Every performer who steps into the room deserves more than silence — they deserve growth. That’s why every artist who auditions for New Leaf Players, upon request, receives thoughtful, constructive feedback, regardless of outcome. We see feedback as part of the creative process, not an afterthought. It’s our way of supporting artists in their development and helping them feel seen, valued, and encouraged.
